MLX & ECAC
MLX Skates is a proud partner of the Eastern College Athletic Conference for the 2010-11 hockey season. Every week, MLX and the
ECAC will announce the following men’s and women’s awards:
MLX Skates Player of the Week
MLX Skates Goaltender of the Week
MLX Skates Rookie of the Week
The ECAC is one of the six NCAA Division I hockey conferences consisting of over 300 schools. The ECAC is home to twelve of these
schools including two-time men’s national champion Cornell University, men and women’s national champions Harvard University, and two-
time men’s national champion Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The winner of the Cleary Cup, given to the regular season league
champion and named for former Harvard coach and player Bill Cleary, is given an automatic bid into the NCAA hockey tournament, also
known as the Frozen Four.
MLX Skates, a new brand of high performance hockey skates designed by former Olympic speed skater Dave Cruikshank, is very excited
to bring their brand to the collegiate level. MLX Skates are revolutionizing the hockey skate. Born from the boot of a speed skater, MLX
Skates are made from aircraft grade composites which not only provide the most protection but also mold to the foot of the skater, similar
to a speed skate. They also feature an easily adjustable blade that allows the player to set their blade to fit their skating style. With MLX,
any skater can get the most from each stride with an easy adjustment to the same skate.
You can learn more about these awards and the award winners at either the ECAC homepage or at the MLX Skates Blog.
